Xsenia D'Abramo BMR, PT
Xsenia uses a functional approach to assessment and treatment. She believes in an approach where hands on therapy is the primary focus. Xsenia incorporates Neurokinetic Therapy and other functional assessment tools in order to best identify the root of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms. Through this process she is able to formulate a client specific treatment plan.
Her treatment sessions utilize various soft tissue techniques, joint mobilization such as the Mulligan Concept, retraining of dysfunctional motor control patterns through specific exercise prescription, acupuncture to aid in healing and promote functional improvement and athletic/corrective taping.
Xsenia is a graduate of the University of Manitoba – Bachelors of Medical Rehabilitation Physiotherapy and is committed to continuing education to keep up to date with the latest assessment and treatment techniques to provide the best quality of care for her clients.
She has experience treating multiple orthopaedic conditions, sports related injuries, pre & post-operative conditions, neurological issues and elite athletes. Xsenia has also been fortunate to have worked abroad in Kuwait for a year where she gained experience working with various cultural populations. While working in Kuwait, she was the physiotherapist and conditioning coach for the Fit Football Academy, with a large emphasis focused on injury prevention and taking a proactive approach in the fight against childhood obesity in the Middle East.
Outside of work, Xsenia is an avid soccer player, and has been playing for over 20 years. Her passions also include Kettlebell training, snowboarding, long distance running and coaching youth soccer.
