Our Story
OUR STORY

You Belong at Annex RMT

In 2019, Neil and Lucas acquired Annex RMT with the goal to transform this hidden gem into a thriving natural health care clinic serving St. Clair Ave and the nearby areas. This was the beginning of a labour of love to create an atmosphere that gives back to its welcoming community.

As a gay-owned and operated clinic, inclusivity and accessibility are at the heart of everything we do.

No matter who you are, we have structured the clinic to ensure each and every client feels supported and empowered during their treatments. We implemented  safety measures that go above and beyond to keep our clients and staff safe throughout the pandemic. This level of care has remained, even with life returning to its new normal. Our peaceful atmosphere provides a relaxing, rejuvenating oasis to improve your holistic well-being at the hands of dedicated, knowledgeable practitioners.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to provide a credit card to book online?
At Annex RMT, we require clients to provide a credit card online in order to secure and confirm their appointment. This helps to ensure that our therapists' time is respected and that our schedule runs efficiently. Your credit card information is securely stored and will only be charged in the event of a no-show or late cancellation (within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time). We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, so we offer a one-time waiver for late cancellations or no-shows. If you have any concerns or questions about our credit card policy, please feel free to reach out to us.
  • Do I need a prescription or a referral?
You do not need a prescription in order to book a session with any of our practitioners. However, your insurance company may require a physician referral or prescription in order to process and approve your claim. Please refer to your benefits booklet or contact your insurer to find out if they require one.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapist's day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the scheduled fee to the card on file.
  • Will you send me reminders for my upcoming appointments?
We'll send you an email reminder 48 hours before your upcoming appointment, and a text message 2 hours prior (make sure you have provided a mobile number and have text messages enabled!).
  • Which methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all major Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Interac, E-transfer, Cash, and Insurance Direct Billing. Pre-payment can be done online or over the phone. We issue detailed receipts that can be used for your insurance and/or income taxes.
  • How come I have to pay HST for massage therapy?
In Canada, in order for a health profession to be exempt from charging HST, the profession must be regulated in a minimum of five (5) provinces. Most recently, Prince Edward Island became the fifth province where massage therapy is regulated, and there is hope that massage therapy will achieve tax exempt status at some point in the future. Currently, however, we are required to collect 13% HST for massage therapy services.
  • How can I pay directly using my insurance benefits?
If you wish to use your insurance benefits to pay for a service, make sure to bring your insurance card with you to your appointment (we need your contract/policy number as well as your certificate/member ID). We also require you to fill out and sign a consent form to authorize us to submit claims on your behalf. Some insurers will not pay to the clinic directly, only to the insured member. We may be able to submit the claim for you, saving you the hassle of doing it yourself, but you will need to pay for your appointment before leaving the clinic. Your insurance may not cover the full amount of the appointment. Some insurers impose a deductible and/or co-pay (amounts that the insured member must pay themselves). Your insurance may also set a cap for the maximum they will reimburse for a service, which may be lower than what we charge for your appointment. Some insurance plans require you to submit a referral from your physician along with the claim. You are responsible for verifying the specific requirements for your coverage. Lastly, there may be times when the clinic is very busy or we experience a technical problem submitting your claim. Please make sure to bring an alternate method of payment.
  • Which insurers can you process for Direct Billing?
Currently, we are able to process direct billing requests through Telus Health, Sun Life, Provider Connect, Blue Cross, and the Claims Xchange. You can contact our front desk if you are unsure whether your insurance provider is available for direct billing.
  • Can you submit my claim to more than one insurance plan?
In most cases, we are only able to receive direct payment from your primary insurance plan. If you have a secondary insurance, we may be able to submit the claim on your behalf, but in most cases the payment will go to the insured member, not the clinic. In that case, you must cover the remaining balance owing for your treatment. We will provide you with an invoice showing the claim submitted to your primary insurance, which you can then submit to your secondary insurance company for reimbursement.
  • How early should I arrive before my appointment?
If this is your first appointment, please make sure to fill out the required intake form online prior to arrival. Please arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment and bring any insurance cards if you wish to have your claim submitted by us. If you arrive late, you may not receive the full length of your appointment. For example, if you booked a 60-minute service and arrive 15 minutes late, you will still be charged for the full 60 minutes.
  • Is there any parking available nearby the clinic?
There are several parking spots in the lot on the north side of the clinic marked "Visitor". You must purchase a ticket at the machine to display on your dashboard ($2.00/hr). There is a Green P lot just south of St. Clair Ave on the west side of Bathurst. You may also find some metered parking along Vaughan Rd, and 1-hour parking along residential side streets. Parking in reserved spots or failing to display proof of payment may result in a ticket.
  • Do you offer Couples Massage?
We do not offer side-by-side couples massage, but we may still be able to book you and your partner for massages at the same time. Give us a call at (416) 907-6880 to check availability.
  • Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! We sell customizable gift cards for all our services. Load up a gift card online and then email it to the recipient. These gift cards can be reloaded and have no expiry date. The following link brings you to our secure, online service: purchase a gift card
